What is a XRF Report?

This article provides a detailed explanation of what a XRF report is.

Updated over 4 months ago

XRF is a non-destructive analytical method used to determine the elemental composition of materials.

Why is XRF Requested?

XRF testing is requested to confirm the material’s composition. This may be required for special materials or to ensure compliance with standard material specifications.

When is XRF Requested?

If XRF testing is needed, it will be specified on the platform under the configuration settings. The resulting report must be uploaded to Virtual Quality Control (VQC) for approval.

Additionally, even if XRF is not initially required in the configuration, we may still request material confirmation during the VQC stage. In such cases, an XRF report can serve as verification of the material used.

XRF Report Requirements:

  • The image of the report must be clear.

  • The material composition shown in the report must match the material being tested.
