How to Use Platform Chat

This article provides a step-by-step guide on how to effectively use the chat feature on the platform.

Our platform includes a built-in chat feature that allows you to easily connect with Geomiq's supplier teams. You can access the chat function from several key areas within the platform, as detailed below:

Contacting the Quoting Team

If you need assistance with a bid and want to reach out to a member of the quoting team, follow these steps:

  1. Navigate to the "View and Bid" section.

  2. Scroll down until you see the "Technical Query? Open Chat" option.

  3. Click on it to open the chat box and start your conversation with the team.

Tips for Effective Communication:

  • Write clear and concise messages to help the team assist you quickly.

  • Double-check any files you attach to ensure they are correct.

Important Notes:

  • If you're requesting a material change, make sure to attach a Data Sheet that validates the material, rather than a Mill Certificate.

  • If youโ€™re requesting any other changes, please provide all necessary evidence when initiating the chat.

Contacting the Production Team

The production team should only be contacted regarding orders for which you have already received a purchase order. Any queries prior to receiving a purchase order should be directed to the quoting team.

To reach the production team:

  1. Go to the "Current Jobs" section.

  2. Click on "Ask a Question" to open the chat

Tips for Effective Communication

  • Write clear and concise messages

  • If your message relates to a specific RFQ rather than the entire order, make sure to specify this clearly.

  • Double check any attached files

Important Notes

  • If you are facing difficulties in obtaining materials, suggest an alternative rather than just stating the order will be late.

  • When contacting the team about a production issue, clearly outline the problem causing the delay and provide a revised delivery date.

How to Send a Message

Follow these simple steps to send a message:

  1. Type Your Message: Enter your message in the text box.

  2. Click the Send Arrow: Located in the far right corner, click the arrow to send your message.

How to Attach a File

Follow these simple steps to attach a file:

  1. Click the Photo Icon: Located in the far left corner of the chat window.

  2. Upload Your File: A pop-up box will appear, allowing you to select and attach your file or photo.

You can attach various file types, including:

  • Images: .jpg, .png, .gif

  • Documents: .pdf, .docx, .xlsx, .pptx

  • CAD Files: .dwg, .dxf, .step, .stl

  • Compressed Files: .zip, .rar

Platform Chat Availability

The platform chat is actively monitored during the following times:

  • Monday to Friday: 8:30 AM โ€“ 5:30 PM (UK time)

  • Saturday: 8:30 AM โ€“ 10:30 AM (UK time)

  • Bank Holidays: 8:30 AM โ€“ 10:30 AM (UK time)

Please note that response times may vary outside of these hours.
